The Story Behind Charissa Faith Interiors
Design, for me, has always been about creating space—both literally and figuratively—for what matters most. I started my design business during a season of life when flexibility wasn’t a luxury, it was a necessity. With two daughters under the age of ten, building a business of my own allowed me to be present for my family while still pursuing meaningful, creative work. That season shaped not only how I work, but why I work the way I do.
My approach to design begins with people. Every client, every family, and every project is unique, and I take great care in understanding not just who will use a space, but how they will live in it day to day. Beautiful rooms mean very little if they don’t function well. I believe form and function must work together—homes should be lived in, not simply admired. That means considering real life details, from traffic flow and safety to pets who are very much part of the family. Thoughtful design anticipates movement, comfort, and longevity, creating spaces that truly support the way a home is used.
Collaboration is at the heart of my process. Getting to know my clients, listening closely, and uncovering what’s most important to them is what ultimately leads to successful projects. Watching a space come to life and seeing the joy and ease it brings to the people who live there, is the most rewarding part of what I do. My hope is that when clients walk into a space I’ve designed, they feel seen, understood, and surrounded by a home that reflects who they are.
Outside of design, I recharge by slowing down and staying curious, whether that’s spending time with my family or hunting for morel mushrooms in the Spring, a hobby I carried with me from my Ohio roots to North Carolina. Much like design, it’s about observation, patience, and appreciating the details. At the end of the day, I believe the most grounded, livable homes are the ones that tell a personal story not mine, but yours.
